A toy poodle born August 2008, known on the agility circuit for his wild hair and vocal talents. Big is such a personality and loved his agility from an early age. He started competing April 2010 quickly progressing through the grades reaching grade 7 Advanced by the end of July in the same year.
2012 was a roller coaster year for us both, my target was to win a cc but we achieved a whole lot more. Big won his first CC at Vyne in May followed by 2nd CC at the SKC 2 weeks later, the treasured 3rd CC came at Tuffley in July making him an Agility Champion.
The KC Festival in 2012 was a great event for us with Big qualifying and then winning the British Open semi and on the same day was part of the small team to win the Nations Cup.
More excitement was to follow in 2012 with Big being selected to represent team GB at the FCI world championships in the Czech Republic, we did ourselves proud competing against the best of the best, Big loved the big stage and was fantastic, we ran clear in both team runs and individual jumping, great experience.
Crufts in 2013 Big qualified for all possible events, the British Open, Crufts Singles, Championship and small team finals with Beacon DTC. Bigs won the British Open jumping, his winning round can be seen in the link on this page and came 4th in the agility round, Champ we qualified for the final with a 2nd in agility and 4th in jumping but picked up 5f in the final. The team event was a great success with 2 clear rounds helping Beacon DTC win the small team
2013.
Next stop on our journey was another international trip, this time to represent England at the 2013 WAO world championships in Spain, another successful event with Big winning 2 classes and coming 2nd in another 2, great achievement on the world stage.
2013 has ended with a trip to Olympia, probably one of the most prestigious finals and certainly one for a great atmosphere, Big was a star and ran his heart out over a big course to finish runner up, when we ran the crowd loved his enthusiasm and raised the roof, looking back at photo's you can see the enjoyment in peoples faces.
What will 2014 bring? We are off to a good start being selected to join the GB squad for training sessions and a chance of being selected for teams at FCI European Open and World Campionships, fingers crossed.
